As we are growing older, ascending in adulthood, it feels like the day is getting shorter and shorter that it is impossible to spend some times to ourselves. From the moment we woke up, we have been rushing out to complete the tasks that need to be done for the day. Every day is the same. We are rushing out in the morning and getting home late in the evening all stressed out and exhausted.

Why are trying so hard and torturing ourselves like so? It is because of the fear of missing out. The thought that if we do not work hard enough, we would not success; therefore, we need to push through our limit and burn ourselves out in the process. Whether or not it is the right mentality, I will let you decide. However, no matter what your reasons are, you should always remember that taking care of yourself should still be the priority; hence, a little time for yourself is needed.

Here are some tips to stop yourself from burning out:

1. Take a five-minute break every hour: your work can be so demanding and stressful that it could keep you to your desk for hours, but by doing that, you would end up draining yourself at the end of the day. Therefore, it is better for you to take a small five-minute break every hour in order to move around, relax, and prevent your mind from being overload.

2. Turn off all your notifications on your way home: sometimes your stresses can also come from the number of notifications that you have. The constant vibrating of your phone and the little numbers of notifications that keep popping up could give you the anxiety about the number of workloads that are needed to be done. For this reason, it is best to have a short break up from those notifications and focus on other things that could help you relax. If possible, occasionally, it is also best if you could leave your work at the office and not bringing it home.

3. If you feel the urge to break down and cry, just do it: There are times when you might feel so stressed out that you have this urge to cry. Listen to your body and cry it all out. It is a sign that you have bottled up those stresses for too long that you need to implode; therefore, let it all out. After a good cry, at least for a while, you will feel more relieved and less button up.

4. Find your hobby: your hobby can be doing sports, or spending time doing indoors or outdoors activities. No matter what your hobbies are, it is always best to have one. Having a hobby allows you to invest more time on yourself and doing what you love rather than focusing on your works and tasks that you feel the needs to complete.

5. A little time with your friends or families: At work, human contact has been kept to the minimum because everyone is busy completing their tasks. Therefore, it is always best that you can maintain your interaction with your friends and families in order to keep yourself grounded and away from the feeling of loneliness. Investing a few hours with the people that you love could greatly improve your mood and your spirit or even brighten up your day.

Finally, always remember to stay positive and tell yourself that you are doing great so it is okay to take a break and have a little time for yourself.
